Empowering our Community

Bringing Hope to Our Community Through Purpose-Driven Projects

01

Blessing Barn

The Blessing Barn serves as a vital resource center, offering free essentials, clothes, and food to families facing challenges. By eliminating barriers and fostering dignity, we aim to uplift and empower community members, ensuring they can access the support they need to thrive. We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10AM – 2 PM. Stay connected for updated hours and Saturday Openings. Located at 2492 US-70, Swannanoa, NC 28778.

02

Blessing Bus

The Blessing Bus is our mobile ministry on a mission — delivering hope, essentials, and encouragement directly to those who need it most. Whether someone is recovering from disaster, facing hardship, or simply can’t get to us, the Blessing Bus brings compassion on wheels. Community members can receive hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, paper goods, socks, and other much-needed items — all shared with dignity and love.

03

Birthday Barn

The Birthday Barn is a joyful extension of The Blessing Barn — open during the same hours and just steps away! Designed for kids visiting during their birthday month, it’s the perfect spot for children ages 2–12 (and all who are young at heart) to feel celebrated and special. With age-appropriate gifts, and moments of joy, the Birthday Barn helps ensure every child knows they are seen, valued, and worth celebrating — no matter their circumstances.

04

Drives and Events

Through our Community Drives and Events, we will unite neighbors and organizations to meet the immediate needs of our community. From back-to-school supply drives and Thanksgiving meals to seasonal initiatives that bring families together, we’re building a stronger, more supportive community. Pictured is our Holiday Shop, hosted each Christmas season to help relieve financial pressure and provide families with meaningful gifts, essentials, and a joyful shopping experience—at no cost. Stay connected on social and our Live Calendar for events.

05

Blessing Bags and Bundles

Our Blessing Bags are pre-filled with hygiene items and essentials, ready to be shared throughout the community. Blessing Bundles are larger kits thoughtfully prepared for those entering sheds, tents, or temporary housing—often including a generator, cot, table, mini fridge, and more. Each bundle is carefully assessed to meet real needs and provide comfort, dignity, and hope.

06

Personal Projects

Our Personal Projects focus on meeting specific needs caused by disaster or hardship. From repairing cars and porches to providing hotel stays or emergency support, we respond to real-life situations with compassion and care. Community members in Western North Carolina can submit requests for needs that are assessed and reasonably repairable. All repair work—such as electrical, plumbing, or structural—is completed by licensed professionals or trusted partner organizations.

07

Project Comfort

Project Comfort provides heaters, window A/C units, and HVAC systems to individuals and families living in sheds, tents, or temporary housing. Many of our neighbors still recovering from disaster face extreme temperatures with no way to stay warm in winter or cool in summer. This project ensures that basic comfort isn’t a luxury—but a lifeline. Each request is carefully assessed to meet real needs with compassion and dignity. Request Comfort Here!
